THIS IS MAINTENANCENO PER DIEM
Install, repair and maintain electrical wiring, conduit, equipment and fixtures. Journeyman Electrician I will perform work underground and above ground performing cable and conduit installations. Perform electrical maintenance repairs in an Industrial setting while leading lesser skilled electricians to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualification
- Must possess a TDLR Journeyman License, or TDLR Masters License, or NCCER Certified Plus Industrial Electrician or completed the ZCAP Journeyman Electrician Qualification program
- Must be able to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics and plans
- Thorough knowledge of Electrician hand, power tools and layout tools
- Must have required tools
- Must be able to work at heights of ft.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands and pre-employment conditions
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work days a week

Responsible for complying with all Zachry and site specific safety rules with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for following direction from a Multi-Craft Electrician, General Foreman, Craft Superintendent, Site Superintendent and or Project ManagerResponsible for complying with the Lock, Tag and Try work procedure; this standard applies to the Sweeny Refinery, associated facilities, and outlying terminals. Will have over sight of co-workers within your area of responsibility to ensure complianceResponsible for inspecting all designated work areas for hazardsParticipate in and complete the Zachry Craft Advancement Program (ZCAP) for Electricians per Site established guidelines.Responsible for performing detailed inspections on hand and power tools to ensure they are safe to operate and in proper working orderResponsible for the safe use of hand and power tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and drills with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for examining blue prints, sketches, diagrams, building plans and specifications to determine locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, wires, conduit, components and other equipmentResponsible for carrying, cutting, bending, connecting and installing conduit as defined in NFPA (NEC ) with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for pulling cables and conductors through specified pathways as defined in NFPA (NEC ) with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for the modification, fabrication and installation of cable trays as required and as defined in NFPA (NEC ) with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for the safe operation of testing equipment to validate connections and ensure capability of circuits using such tools as clamp meters, ohmmeters, voltmeters and harmonics testers with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for the inspection and testing of all electrical equipment to ensure safe operation and to certify it is operating as intended with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for the safe installation and maintenance of temporary power systems and their distribution system as defined in NFPA (NEC ) with direct over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for the installation and maintenance of the assured equipment grounding / bonding on equipment and facilities with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for terminating wire / cable to electrical equipment such as but not limited to outlets, switches, breakers, control panels, and distributions systems with over sight of co-workers to ensure complianceResponsible for observing all state and local building / electrical codesResponsible for leading the Safety Task Assessment (STA) meetingsPerforms other duties as requiredEssential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

Physical demands : Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull : objects, materials, controls and tools. May be required to lift, carry and move up to lbs. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to : hard hat, safety glasses / goggles, ear plugs / muffs, masks / respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.Work environment : Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm / hot – cool / cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. Noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools. People standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking.
