Evening Certified Lactation Consultant

We provide lactation support services seven days a week. This role will primarily be in the evening from 1 : 00 p.m. to 9 : 00 p.m. or 2 : 00 p.m. to 10 : 00 p.m.

We provide lactation support services 7 days a week. This role will primarily be Monday-Friday, however, all Consultants on the team are expected to work at least one weekend during a calendar month, and will have days off during the week when they are scheduled to work that weekend.

The goal of this role is to deliver quality, compassionate bedside patient care in the hospital setting to improve breastfeeding outcomes.

To accomplish this goal, you'll need knowledge in :

• Newborn Feeding Behaviors : Newborn feeding behaviors in the first 42 days of life.
• Latching and Positioning : Latching and positioning newborns using symmetrical latch techniques.
• NICU Patient Needs : Have a thorough understanding of the unique needs of NICU patients
• Feeding Challenges : Understand the common feeding challenges of dyads with complex medical situations such as SGA, pre-term delivery, hyperbilirubinemia, low blood sugar, IUGR, and LGA
• Breast Pump Operation : Understand the operation of breast pumps and their indications for use.
• Impact of Birthing Practices : Understand the impact of birthing practices on breastfeeding.
