Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong neuro background willing to circulate cardiac and transplant cases for night shifts in a high-acuity teaching hospital.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Operating Room at a large teaching and Magnet-designated hospitalPrimarily night shift, working 3x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Patient population includes neuro, transplant, orthopedic sports, minimally invasive, robotics, general, GYN, urology, and plastics casesExpect to float within the hospital as needed; no floating to sister hospitalsScrubs are provided with any color permitted for OR personnelEpic EMR is used; Epic experience preferred but not requiredMay be assigned charge duties28 OR rooms with an average daily census of 50-75 casesRole may include charge nurse responsibilitiesResponsibilities include circulating a variety of surgical cases, with emphasis on neuro, transplant, and willingness to cover other specialties if neededTeam-oriented environment within a busy, high-acuity academic centerOrientation sessions are held twice monthly, with Epic module completion during orientationModules must be completed pre-start; facility tracks completion via transcriptsFirst-time travelers are accepted for this positionLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelersNo radius requirement for eligibilityRTO (requested time off) is restricted to one week max and not allowed during orientation weekRequirements
Active WA or Compact RN license requiredCurrent BLS certification required3-4 years of OR RN experience strongly preferred; minimum of 2 years requiredStrong neuro experience required; willingness to circulate cardiac and transplant cases (cardiac skills not mandatory)Experience with multiple service lines such as cardiac and robotics is highly preferredTeaching hospital and trauma experience is preferredEPIC charting experience is a plus but not requiredMust be fully COVID vaccinated and boostedMust submit two references, preferably supervisory or charge, for considerationNo pending licenses accepted; license must be active at time of submissionPrior UW staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 monthsBenefits
