Library Safety Officer

Under the supervision of the Security Services Lead, this position is responsible for guarding and protecting University and library property with a high intrinsic or monetary value. The Library Safety Officer will respond to and follow up on all issues within the library buildings. Acts as deterrent to criminal activity by routinely patrolling the library buildings. The incumbent must be able to work Sunday 12 : 45 p.m. to 9 : 15 p.m., and Monday through Thursday 3 : 15 pm to 12 : 15 am; must have the flexibility to cover day shifts, as needed, due to scheduling issues. During the last week of instruction and finals, the incumbent will be called upon to work extended hours and consecutive days, including graveyard shifts.

The full salary range for the Library Safety Officer is $21.34 - $27.59 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $26.01 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
