This role is hands-on, travel-intensive (approximately 80%), and best suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced field environments, enjoys solving complex automation challenges, and wants to play a key role in supporting some of the most sensitive facilities in the industry. ________________________________________ What You’ll Do Partner directly with customers to understand automation requirements for their mechanical and electrical systems. Develop, test, and deploy PLC programs used to monitor and control HVAC equipment in mission-critical spaces. Implement modifications and enhancements to existing PLC databases based on customer needs. Provide technical expertise during client meetings, design reviews, and on-site coordination sessions. Support field teams during system start-up and commissioning, including hands-on troubleshooting and adjustments. Coordinate with contractors, mechanical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless system integration. Diagnose and resolve installation issues during static and dynamic commissioning phases. Troubleshoot alarms, logic errors, and operational issues across PLC-controlled systems. Produce clear documentation outlining programming logic, revisions, and commissioning notes for project turnover. ________________________________________ What You Bring 5+ years of PLC programming experience, ideally supporting mission-critical or industrial automation environments. Minimum 2 years of experience with Studio 5000 and Rockwell / Allen-Bradley platforms. Proven ability to program and troubleshoot complex chiller or boiler plant sequences (central utility plants). Experience with redundant PLC architectures and controller failover strategies. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure environments. Proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to work independently while supporting multiple teams. Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software engineering, or a related field is a plus.
