ABOUT THE ROLE
CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender with headquarters in Plano, TX, is seeking a Software Engineer II to help grow our Information Technology Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office. The Software Engineer II is responsible for writing code that enhances the loan origination and loan servicing platforms and all ancillary internal and external programs used at CountryPlace Mortgage.
This role ensures high availability, data integrity, security, and compliance across all critical mortgage systems, supporting development, testing, and production environments. The Software Engineer II partners with senior IT staff, business, compliance, and vendor teams to ensure reliable integration and performance of mortgage technology solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and optimize business solutions and reports with minimal supervision
- Enhance existing applications by refactoring code, improving performance, and modernizing code
- Develop and maintain advanced SSRS reports, including parameterized and subscription reports
- Work closely with business to clarify requirements, propose technical solutions, and estimate effort
- Integrate systems using REST / SOAP APIs, partner data feeds, and internal services
- Create reusable code modules, libraries, and tests to improve code quality and maintainability
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to promote development best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, using logging, tracing, and SQL diagnostics
- Contribute to data validation processes and ensure accuracy across reporting and data pipelines
- Support junior developers by answering questions, reviewing work, and sharing technical knowledge

Bachelor’s degree or comparable industry experienceMinimum 4 years of experience working with object-oriented programming languageMinimum 3 years of experience using Visual Studio .NET to create applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient at writing ad-hoc SQL Queries in PL-SQL or T-SQLStrong customer service skillsLoan origination / servicing support experience helpful but not mandatoryWE OFFER
