Role : AssistantController
Reportingto : Director of Finance
The AssistantController is accountable for the company's accounting operations, includingoverseeing financial statements, balance sheets, bank statementreconciliations, and cash flow. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Assistant Controller will be a valuable management team member, driving keyaccounting improvements and engaging with business leaders throughout thecompany on day-to-day financial and operational initiatives.
Primary Job Duties :
Duties include, but are not limited, to the following :
Planning,directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Managingthe month-end close process for multiple units that roll into separate parentcompanies.
- Performfinal review of P&Ls and balance sheets for accuracy. Ability to pinpoint and research variances.
- Managingthe accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary to accountfor consolidated business results accurately.
- Coordinatingand preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Creatingand managing the budget process.
- Developingand evaluating internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budgetaccounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
- Providingmanagement with accurate information is vital to the decision-making process.
- Assessing currentaccounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, andimplementing new processes.
- Evaluating theeffectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed.
- Overseeingregulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
- Ensuringcompliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professionalstandards.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldMinimum 5-7 years experience in accounting / financeExperience in working with multiple entities under different holding companiesMust have Hospitality / Restaurant experienceStrong knowledge of R365 Financial SoftwareKnowledge of payroll, accounts payable, andaccounts receivable functionsExperience with financial reportingrequirementsUnderstanding of applicable laws and regulationsGeneral ledger and other accounting systemsexperienceAdvanced computer skills, especially in ExcelDetail-oriented, organized, and able to workin a fast-paced environmentMust be able to communicate financialinformation in sound business language so people of all levels can understandFluent in EnglishMust be willing to work from our officeheadquarters in Miami, FloridaPhysical and other requirements :
