The Fitness Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations performance and profitability of the fitness club. This role combines leadership customer service and business management to ensure that members receive a high-quality experience while meeting the clubs financial and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee all aspects of day-to-day club operations including opening / closing procedures cleanliness equipment maintenance and safety standards.
Ensure compliance with health safety and sanitation regulations.
Manage vendor relationships and inventory of supplies and equipment.
Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments.
Membership & Sales
Drive membership growth and retention by developing sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
Track and analyze membership data sales reports and KPIs.
Build relationships with members to enhance satisfaction and encourage renewals.
Handle member concerns feedback and conflict resolution professionally.
Staff Leadership & Development
Recruit train schedule and supervise staff including trainers front desk personnel and maintenance staff.
Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
Foster a positive and motivating work culture aligned with the clubs mission and values.
Financial Management
Develop and manage the clubs budget ensuring profitability and cost control.
Oversee billing payroll and expense management.
Prepare and present financial and operational reports to senior management.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute local advertising social media and community outreach initiatives.
Organize events fitness challenges and open houses to promote the club and engage members.
Requirements
Education & Experience :
Bachelors degree in Business Administration Sports Management or related field (preferred).
35 years of experience in fitness club or hospitality management.
Proven track record in sales operations and team leadership.
Skills & Competencies :
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of fitness industry trends equipment and best practices.
Proficiency in CRM and club management software.
Ability to manage budgets and analyze performance metrics.
Working Conditions
Full-time position; may require evening and weekend availability.
