Respiratory Equipment Tech- Full time Days Flex

Performs routine duties to clean, sterilize, and maintain equipment and work areas in Respiratory Therapy department under direct supervision.

Essential Job Duties

Delivers and picks up equipment and supplies to and from patient areas. Assembles and checks equipment to ensure proper operating condition. Delivers oxygen and compressed air tanks to patient floors and changes tanks as necessary. Disassembles, cleans and sterilizes equipment to prepare for reuse according to established procedure.

Makes initial inspection of returned equipment; makes adjustments or minor repairs as necessary; refers major repairs to supervisor or appropriate others. Prepares and packages equipment to ensure proper storage in adherence to quality control and safety standards.

Performs various housekeeping and maintenance duties within department i.e., garbage disposal, floor care, etc.). Cleans and maintains refrigerator, sterilizing unit, cabinets, and other work areas according to established procedure.

Maintains adequate and appropriate supply levels; notifies supervisor when stock is depleted. Receives stock and maintains storage areas in a safe and orderly condition.

Performs other job-related duties as required

Position is 3( 11.5 hour shifts) with weekend and Holiday requirement.

This position is at the Weill Cornell site.

Preferred criteria- Customer service and good communication skills

Required Criteria- HS Diploma
