Title: Food Scientist - Food Manufacturing
Location: Le Mars, IA - ON SITE ROLE
Salary: $75,000-$100,000/Year + Bonus & Relocation
Requirements: 5+ Years in a Food Scientist (R&D) role within a Food and Beverage Manufacturing Facility working with sanitation teams & high speed environments. Dairy Manufacturing & aseptic production will be preferred for this role.
- Product Development: Formulate and develop new products.
- Research & Testing: Conduct experiments, sensory evaluations, and shelf-life studies.
- Scale-Up: Design processes for moving from bench-top prototypes to full-scale production.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (HACCP, SQF, GFSI).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with marketing, packaging, and quality assurance teams.
- Innovation: Stay current on food science trends and apply new technologies to frozen and packaged foods.
What you need for this Role:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related field (Master's preferred for advanced roles).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing.
- Ability to conduct sensory and analytical testing.
- Familiarity with frozen dessert manufacturing processes.
- Experience: Entry-level roles require internships or academic experience; senior roles need 4+ years in product development.
- Certifications (often preferred): HACCP, SQF, GFSI
