American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong ICU skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a community hospital12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AMPatient population includes cardiac, vascular, general surgical, and medical ICU cases such as MI, cardiac interventions, post open-heart, respiratory and renal failure, and sepsisCare for high acuity patients using advanced hemodynamic monitoring and support devices including Impella, IABP, CRRT, and ventilatorsRN to patient ratios are 1 : 2 for ICU level, with 1 : 1 for high acuity cases and 1 : 3 or 1 : 4 for overflow patientsFloat required within the critical care division or Intermediate CareRequired to work every other weekendTravelers expected to work 75% of holidaysUses Epic for electronic medical recordsWork within a positive, team-focused environment emphasizing high-tech and high-touch patient careSupport available from CNAs, nurse techs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists, and a rapid response teamTravelers receive a week of orientation including Epic training and a 12-hour shift with a preceptorRoyal blue scrubs requiredFree parking is provided onsiteFirst-time travelers are acceptedHoliday coverage required for 75% of major holidaysApproval required for requested time offUnit culture values collaboration and teamwork\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license requiredMinimum 1 year of ICU experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications requiredProficiency with cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, arterial / vascular lines, ventilator care, CRRT, and use of Impella or IABPStrong skills in titrating drips, managing post open-heart cases, Swan, temporary pacemakers, and post pulmonary artery thrombectomy proceduresExperience with Epic charting system preferred\n Benefits\n
