Instructor Position
The University of South Alabama Department of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) invites
applications for a non-tenure track, twelve-month, Instructor of Emergency Medical Services.
Candidates for this position will be expected to advise students and teach EMT, AEMT, and
paramedic courses.
Qualifications : Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited
institution (Master’s Degree preferred), current State of Alabama paramedic license, National
Registry paramedic certification a minimum of three years of paramedic work experience, and at
least one year of experience as an EMS instructor.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree will be required to obtain a Master’s degree in a related
discipline from a regionally-accredited institution within four years of hire date. Candidates must
obtain instructor certifications in American Heart Association ACLS, PALS, and BLS within six
months of starting position. Position will start January 1, 2026.
