JOB DESCRIPTION : SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides psychiatric nursing care to clients in crisis in the Walk-In Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides medication administration, monitoring and follow-up per provider's order. Provides information, education, and support to individuals in crisis that promote wellness and recovery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitors vitals, performs lab testing.
• Obtain and enters orders into EMR from authorized prescriber.
• Administers and gives medications to patients, monitors the dosage, side effects, use and documents patients' reactions. Provides medication training to the guest or guest's family / guardian to administer the guest's medication, to monitor proper levels of dosage and watch for side effects.
• Oversee the administering of nursing needs of guests.
• Performs as a liaison role between guests and the authorized prescriber, pharmacist, family, and / or collateral support systems.
• Observes guests on a day-to-day basis and provides documentation in the EMR.
• Provides group or individual education as needed.
• Participates and / or leads staff meetings and training as scheduled or necessary.

Minimum of Associates Nursing Degree from an accredited school or a Waiver approved LPN by State of TN
