Description

Job Summary:

Perform the meat cutting functions

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive any meat delivery, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage area
  • Weigh, cut and process all meat items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice
  • Observe and maintain company sanitation and food safety standards
  • Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • All other duties that may be assigned
Work Environment:
  • Must be willing to work any shift when necessary, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition
Job Requirements:.
  • Must possess organization skills to plan time effectively
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced and somewhat stressful environment to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must have valid Health Card or ability to obtain same
  • Previous experience required; 1 to 3 years of hands-on Butcher experience
  • Must have accurate knife skills and the ability to follow recipes
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
Physical Requirements:
  • Must have manual dexterity in hands and fingers
  • Must possess the physical ability to access all areas of the kitchen
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighting up to 50 lbs without restriction
  • Must be able to work in close quarters or small rooms
  • Must be able to occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions
