Opening / Selling Statement - Our client is seeking a Sr Level Java engineer for engineering and delivery microservices and API's to support Customer Data. The team supports various mid-layer services across the organization and to external partners and is seeking a strong Java Engineer with Azure cloud experience. Best qualified candidates will have strong experiences in Java 8+, Azure Cloud, Containerization, Python, Data Streaming, and Agile / Scrum.

Job Duties -

Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.

Help define project scope & specifications, and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.

Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.

Propose technical solutions.

Delivery of well-designed, high-quality, fully functional, properly tested features, fixes, and enhancements.

Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.

Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.

Provide subject matter expertise and direction, guidance, and support on complex engagements.

Job Requirements -

7+ engineering

6+ Java 17+ (2021+), including functional programming

4+ Spring Boot v3+ (2022+)

3+ Docker / Kubernetes (fundamentals, scale up / down, deployment)

3+ NoSQL & RDBMS - Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch

Python+Spark / Databricks

Functional & nonfunctional testing : jbehave, cucumber, selenium, junit / Gatling, JMeter, OWasp

Azure, Git, ADO / Jenkins, CICD

Agile / Scrum

Desired Skills & Experience -

Streaming : Kafka, Kinesis, and Event Hubs are strongly desired

Datadog or New Relic a plus

Elastic Search a plus

Apigee a plus

Required Skills : Java

Basic Qualification :

Additional Skills : Test Engineer
