As a Senior Network Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for designing, implementing, and securing enterprise-level network infrastructure. This role is responsible for architecting resilient, scalable, and mission-ready network solutions that support modernized communications, data transport, and operational technology systems critical to base operations. As a senior technical authority, the Senior Network Engineer leads effort to integrate switching, routing, firewall, and wireless systems into legacy and next-generation environments. This position ensures alignment with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, network performance standards, and evolving mission requirements. Position will be located at Los Angeles SFB.

This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.

Responsibilities

• Senior position with multi-disciplined network experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions.
• Understands requirements, creates designs and network topology artifacts to meet or exceed connectivity, availability, reliability security SLAs.
• Leads the development of designs, plans and policies, and implementations of data networks based on the customers' performance criteria and specifications.
• Leads site surveys and network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure.
• Leads preliminary and final SPRIP development.
• Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.
• Provides Post-Deployment Over-the-Shoulder-Training to the O&M team to ensure smooth transition of the networks systems.
• Designs and implements routing policies and load balancing solutions for the customers using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols.
• Creates cyber artifacts such as topology / data flow diagrams, hardware / software lists, STIG checklists, ports / protocols / services, and POA&Ms.
• Designs and implements secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
• Implements and supports network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration.
• Creates LOM to capture all major components and installation materials to ensure successful deployment of systems.
• Prepares or contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
• Ensures network solutions follow all pertinent DAF policies and established compliant IT system integrations.
• Coordinates with local Communication Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cutover new deployments.
• Assists the O&M team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems.
• Resolves technical issues with networks, hardware, and software. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments.

Material & Equipment Directly Used: Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and AutoCAD. Working Environment: Office environment with potential to support austere locations. Physical Activities: Must be able to lift / carry 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Technical BA / BS Degree; Or High School Diploma or Associate Degree.
• CCNP or equivalent.
• CompTIA Security+

Experience / Skills

• 7 years with BA/BS Degree; Or Minimum of 9 years of experience as a Network Engineer for large, complex programs / systems with a High School or Associate Degree.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance.

Skills & Technology Used: Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers.
