[job_card.job_description]KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Data Engineer.(remote)About us:We are building the financial operating system for healthcare provider organizations. We are a lean, exceptional team growing 3x year over year and solving some of the hardest challenges in healthcare finance. The Role We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to act as the technical authority for our platform's data foundation. This is not a generalist role; it is a specialized position focused on correctness, reconciliation, and financial-grade reliability. You will own the "supply side" of our data infrastructure, architecting systems that produce deterministic outputs from messy, mutable upstream healthcare sources. You will be responsible for ensuring that our data pipelines are scalable, verifiable, and structurally designed to handle the complexity of healthcare semantics. Our pipelines operate in an environment of high volatility-where metadata is missing, postings are delayed, and history is rewritten. We need a leader who treats data engineering as an architecture of correctness, ensuring our platform remains the trusted financial source of truth for our customers. Core Responsibilities Architect Ingestion & Pipelines: Design and govern ingestion pipelines that handle the unique complexities of healthcare data, including mutable transaction histories, voids, backdated changes, and "tickling" updates. Own Reconciliation & QA: Build automated "tie-out" processes and drift detection to ensure Level's data matches source-of-truth systems exactly. You will establish invariants (e.g., control totals) that prevent silent data drift. Design for Scalability & Replay ability: Create a deterministic, repayable ingestion infrastructure that allows us to reprocess historical data safely and backfill customers with full diff comparisons. Resolver Logic: Own the logic for merging and resolving records, ensuring transparency and correctness when handling complex scenarios like same-day void+updates or late postings. Technical Leadership: Set standards for correctness across the engineering organization and partner with QA to define test harnesses that guarantee data integrity. Tenacity & Commitment: You understand that building foundational systems at an early-stage company requires persistence, ownership, and sustained intensity. You're comfortable pushing through ambiguity, taking responsibility for hard problems end-to-end, and doing the unglamorous work required to get correctness right. Experience: You have 10+ years of total experience (Staff, Principal, or Lead level) building correctness-critical systems that cannot drift (e.g., financial ledgers, payments, or healthcare RCM). Technical Stack: You are comfortable with modern data tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks, DBT) and can aggressively refactor complexity into simplicity. Snowflake experience required as well. Mutable Data Expertise: You have built systems where upstream data changes retroactively and understand how to manage idempotency, state machines, and versioned event histories. Mindset: You are "paranoid about correctness." You write invariants before writing code and prioritize architectural purity over convenience to ensure financial accuracy.
