About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Sales Engineer to join our team and drive technical sales initiatives across our CNC machinery and automation product lines. This role blends engineering expertise with solution-driven sales, helping customers identify the right CNC systems to increase productivity, improve precision, and optimize manufacturing operations.
As the CNC Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical expert and trusted advisor to clients across industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, industrial manufacturing, and more. You’ll work closely with customers to evaluate their needs, recommend CNC equipment, and support them throughout the decision, installation, and integration process.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and manage a pipeline of CNC equipment sales opportunities within an assigned territory.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturing leaders, engineers, and machine shop owners.
- Conduct onsite visits, assessments, demos, and presentations to understand customer needs and propose solutions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and ROI analyses to support customer decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, lead times, and technical feasibility.
Technical Expertise
Act as the subject matter expert for CNC machines, tooling, automation, controls, and related manufacturing technology.Assist customers in selecting the appropriate CNC machines based on application requirements.Provide accurate technical information regarding capabilities, features, and machine specifications.Coordinate with engineering teams to address technical questions or custom requests.Customer Support & Post-Sale Coordination
Partner with technical service and installation teams to ensure successful machine delivery, setup, and training.Resolve customer concerns and ensure a positive long-term relationship.Provide follow-up support to ensure machine performance meets expectations.Market & Product Knowledge
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and new CNC technologies.Attend trade shows, demonstrations, and industry events to promote the company’s products.Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in CNC machinery, machine tools, industrial equipment, or manufacturing technology.Strong understanding of CNC machining processes (milling, turning, multi-axis, etc.).Proven sales or customer-facing experience in a technical environment.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Ability to travel throughout assigned territory.Preferred
Engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial) or equivalent technical background.Experience selling high-value capital equipment.Familiarity with CAD / CAM software and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Mazak, Haas, etc.).Key Competencies
