Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician, Heat Treat for our Carson, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we're the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities :

Responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs of production equipment, specifically related but not limited to, gas and electric heat furnaces, ovens, tooling, quench tanks, cooling systems, parts washing equipment, and parts plating equipment.

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance such as lubricating, adjustments, component replacements, cleaning, teardown and reassembly.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and controls systems. Replace pumps, motors, gear boxes, cylinders, chains, etc.
• Maintain documentation related to safety, PMs and repair work orders.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new heat-treating equipment.
• Interface with contractors as needed for repairs beyond in-house capabilities.
• Specify and order required repair parts and supplies. Maintain min / max for spares.
• Install electrical piping, conduits, wiring, switching devices, controls, fixtures, motors, fans, and other such equipment.
• Perform skilled maintenance activities including welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
• Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to implement process improvements
• Maintain clean and organized work areas per 5S requirements.
• Fabricate or modify parts as required to increase equipment up-time.
• Follow all company rules and procedures.
• Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
