Job Title : Programmer – Consultant (COBOL)

Location : Blythewood, SC – Hybrid

Duration : 12 months

Pay Rate : $60 - $65 / hr. on W2

Regional candidates will be given priority (SC / NC / GA).

Daily Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Analyze the phoenix ii, web service, and batch business applications
  • Take the lead in analysing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems
  • Propose solutions
  • Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements.
  • Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager.

Required Education :

Prefer bachelor's degree in information technology related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience.

Required Certifications :

  • Not required but MS technical certifications will be factored in the selection process.
  • Microfocus certifications are a significant advantage

    • Required Skills (rank in order of Importance) :

  • 8+ Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019 / 2022, batch and under IIS.
  • 4+ Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019 / 2022 including the ability to use the debugger.
  • 4+ Years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree.

    • Preferred Skills (Rank in Order of Importance) :

  • Experience with MICROFOCUS COBOL Version 7 and higher
  • Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB.
  • IIS Configuration / Setup
  • Skilled in C# and .NET
  • Microsoft Certification – please indicate specific certificate on resume
  • Microfocus Certification – please indicate specific certificate on resume
