Des Moines Healthcare Job Details

Location : Des Moines, Iowa 50309 (Iowa nursing jobs)

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : January 5, 2026 – End : April 6, 2026)

Shift : 6 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM, Monday – Friday (4x10 hour shifts / week, rotating day off)

On-Call : Up to 1 overnight per week and 3 weekends per contract (weekend call : Friday 5pm – Monday 6 : 30am)

Hours per Week : 40

Unit : Operating Room (OR) – 16 suites, average 35-50 cases / day

Scrubs : Provided

EMR : EPIC

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2190 - $2350

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license

BLS certification (AHA required)

Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience

Proficient circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred

Experience with General, Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required

Additional experience in Neuro, Ortho (trauma), Gyn, Uro, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular preferred

Level I trauma center experience required

EPIC EMR experience within the past 3 years

Must have completed at least one travel nursing assignment in the past 12 months (no first-time travelers)

Ability to float across multiple hospital campuses

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality patient care as part of an interdisciplinary surgical healthcare team

Circulate and scrub for a wide range of surgical cases : general, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neuro, ortho, gyn, uro, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular

Maintain efficient operating room turnover times (goal : under 20 minutes)

Operate advanced surgical equipment, including Davinci robots and Stealth neuro navigation technology

Participate in on-call rotation (overnight and weekend coverage)

Float to other hospital campuses as needed

Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
