IT Business Analyst

SUMMARY :

The IT Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between IT and business stakeholders. They are responsible for understanding business needs, eliciting requirements, and translating them into IT solutions that meet business objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Partner with stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., Finance, Sales, Operations) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams.
• Evaluate, analyze, and communicate IT systems requirements on a continuing basis, and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties.
• Author and update internal and external documentation, and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation.
• Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems.
• Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
• Drive identification of requirements across business units and identify substandard systems processes through evaluation of real-time data.
• Serve as thought leader for technical business processes.
• Create and implement management plans for projects.
• Determine and develop user requirements for IT systems in production, to ensure maximum usability.
• Defining and performing systems analysis and development tasks to improve workflow and operating efficiency.
• Formulates proposals for new systems and information needs by analyzing existing systems and procedures and defining recommended technical and procedural improvements.
• Analyze costs of existing operations and estimates cost savings to be achieved by implementing proposed changes; makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Ensures all documentation and requests comply with established policies and procedures.
• Maintains applicable systems to monitor and track projects, plans and / or data; provides reports to management as needed.
• Perform risk assessments including identifying, tracking, and mitigation strategies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. Minimum 8 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Technical proficiency in the area of practice is helpful, and necessity determined by position. Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office programs. Intermediate to expert level in Microsoft Project. Strong administrative skills. Must be very detail oriented. Exceptional oral and written communications. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
