American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift position with a focus on oncology and high acuity PCU care; an active OH or compact RN license is required.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care bedsAssigned to the Progressive Care Unit with a focus on oncology patientsTypical patient population includes BMT, acute leukemia, hematology, medical oncology, PCU oncology, gynecological oncology, urology, colorectal, surgical oncology, and corrections healthcareFloating to MedSurg and various oncology PCU units requiredPCU staffing ratios are typically 1 : 3, may be 1 : 4 with mixed acuity, and MedSurg / Telemetry ideally 1 : 4 but can be 1 : 5Night shift (3x12 hour shifts), 19 : 00–07 : 30Variable weekend requirements based on unit needsSelf-scheduling requests allowed prior to final schedule postingRequired to follow strict infection prevention protocols and fall precautionsFirst week consists of dayshift orientation Monday through Friday, followed by five shifts of bedside orientationIndependent practice begins after orientation periodStrict compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process is mandatory immediately upon contract signingLocals are accepted at the same rate as travelersNo set or blocked scheduling is offeredRTO (requested time off) must be submitted at the time of applicationCurrent employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for this assignment\n \n Requirements\n
Active OH or compact RN license in hand required for considerationMinimum 2 years of high acuity PCU or higher level experience requiredOncology experience preferred but not requiredCurrent certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are requiredEducation must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited programMust provide 2 professional references, including at least one from a manager / director or supervisorFormer employees must have been away from the facility for at least 6 months to be eligible\n Benefits\n
