Job Summary :

Location : Methodist Womens Hospital

Address : 707 N. 190th Plaza - Elkhorn NE

Work Shift : 11 : 45am to 12 : 15am 2 shifts required per scheduling period

Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer / patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment.

Responsibilities : Essential Functions

1. Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer / patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment as outlined in the Population Specific Criteria.

• Demonstrates ability to identify opportunities for and individualized customer service / patient care according to customer / patient needs.

2. Exhibits excellent interpersonal relations with patients co-workers physicians and guests to ensure effective communication.

3. Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture. Collects Microbiological specimens. The collection of laboratory specimens is used to aid in the assessment of the patients medical condition. Laboratory specimens are collected using proper policies and procedures.

4. Assists with maintaining an environment conducive to the comfort and recovery of the patient.

5. Assists with or participates in certain procedures as directed by the RN and in accordance to nursing policy and procedure.

6. Assists patients in activities as directed by the Registered Nurse.

7. Directly responsible to the staff nurse and assists in the care of the patient by performing delegated activities utilizing the reciprocal process of the 4 Rights of Delegation.

8. Performs technical skills competently and independently to assure patient safety. (Autonomy)

9. Maintains a professional behavior in attitude demeanor interactions to achieve organizations mission. (Quality Improvement Interdisciplinary Relationships Professional Development community and the healthcare organization.)

10. Initiates action to correct prevent and / or minimize risk(s) to the patient family or hospital employees (i.e. falls needle sticks patient concerns.) (Quality of Care)

11. Provides assistance with special projects.

12. Performs ongoing assessments to determine the assigned patients needs and implements interventions under the direction of the RN / MD.
