As the Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations for UCLAs School of Dentistry, you will bring your fundraising expertise, strong leadership and administrative abilities and high ambitions to work alongside driven colleagues, thoughtful leadership and enthusiastic faculty committed to the success of their graduates. In this role, you will oversee the entire range of development and alumni relations for the school, establishing goals and objectives for programs and activities reflective of funding priorities and will design and implement comprehensive and integrated development and alumni programs. As the Executive Director, you will plan, manage and direct efforts to attract private support from individuals, corporations, foundations and other organizations and will lead special events, volunteer and board management efforts designed to achieve the schools goals and increase Dentistrys visibility and outreach as you represent the school to donors and the wider community. UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Minimum of seven years of experience and progressive responsibility as a professional development officer or similar professional experience in a nonprofit, membership / volunteer driven or other related environment. Progressively responsible experience in the design, implementation and management of complex development or comparable programs including the ability to envision and articulate future direction. Demonstrated experience in developing successful cultivation and solicitation strategies and soliciting high-level major gifts and / or prior experience with solicitations of a similar nature, level and complexity. Excellent donor, alumni relations or similar constituent based-relationship skills with expert knowledge of the principles and practices of major gift fundraising in a major research university or institution of equivalent complexity. Appropriate management and administrative skills needed to organize, direct, motivate and evaluate other professionals and volunteers. Strong supervisory skills to oversee and evaluate the efforts of professional fundraisers. Excellent communication skills to express, both verbally and in writing, the mission of the University and the fund-raising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to the School of Dentistry. Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with the Dean, faculty, and administration; central development; major donor prospects; and volunteers. Effective verbal communication skills to make persuasive oral presentations to senior management and internal and external constituencies conduct participatory meetings; gain acceptance of decisions and advise and collaborate with others. Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with academic leaders, faculty, staff, donors and volunteers. Strong strategic thinking skills aligned with the ability to implement and follow through. Steadfast commitment to work of impeccable integrity with strong analytical and organizational skills to develop creative, credible solutions, recommendations and programs as well as to define and implement special fundraising and / or program related projects.

Background Check : Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation. Ability to work evenings and / or weekends as needed. Ability to travel as needed.
