Job Description

The Senior Irrigation Technician performs journey level work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation sprinkler systems on City property to ensure effective watering of golf courses, park areas, and playing fields.

Essential Functions

• Manage, design, permit, and supervise installations; inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain drinking fountains and irrigation system within Park and Recreation properties; provides a high level of maintenance for turf and landscaping areas within the City.
• Loads and unloads tools, irrigation materials, and equipment onto trucks to ensure necessary tools are available for repairs to be made.
• Performs general technical and preventive maintenance on sprinkler systems such as checking oils, cleaning parts, and making adjustments to ensure system is maintained in proper operating condition.
• Makes diagnoses of problems when possible or refers to journey level irrigation worker to provide effective repair of sprinkler systems.
• Performs a variety of activities such as digging trenches, driving tractor to pull water tank, using chain saws, and weed eaters to assist with irrigation system maintenance.
• Provides quality customer service and competent public interaction.
• Performs any and all other work as required or assigned.

Salary Range $22.32 - $24.56 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
