We're looking for a mature, competent, and fun Emergency / ICU Technician who brings both strong technical skills and a positive team spirit to every shift.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced emergency and critical care environment. The technician will be responsible for caring for unstable and critically ill patients, triaging emergencies, monitoring hospitalized pets, running diagnostics, administering treatments, and delivering high-quality nursing care. In addition to supporting ECC cases, this technician will play a vital role in assisting a range of specialty departments—including internal medicine, surgery, oncology, cardiology, and radiology.
The ideal candidate is confident in IV catheter placement, blood draws, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, and medication administration. But technical ability is just one part of the role. This technician will also admit and discharge patients professionally and provide clients with clear, compassionate communication and education.

- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Skills
- Perform venipuncture for blood sample collection
- Place intravenous (IV) catheters accurately and efficiently
- Conduct in-house laboratory analysis using IDEXX systems
- Handle and prepare tissue samples for diagnostic submission
- Perform blood smear differential analysis
- Collect and evaluate urine samples for diagnostic purposes
- Monitor anesthesia using ECG, SpO₂, etCO₂, respiratory rate, temperature, and blood pressure, including recognizing common abnormalities
- Administer fluid therapy, including calculating fluid rates, CRIs, and administering ancillary treatments
- Accurately calculate and administer pharmaceuticals
- Take diagnostic radiographs, ensuring proper patient positioning, restraint, and adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Operate and maintain digital radiography (DR) equipment
- Clean, store, and sterilize instruments and equipment, using both autoclave and ethylene oxide (ETO) methods.
With Four Seasons being a specialty hospital, advanced skills are needed to provide our highest quality of patient care. The candidate may not possess these skills at time of hire, but training will be provided for the right candidate. A few of these skills include :
- Perform long catheter placement and provide ongoing care
- Place and maintain arterial catheters
- Assist with feeding tube placement, administration, and care
- Monitor and care for thoracic tubes
- Place and manage urinary catheters
- Administer and monitor blood and blood products
- Conduct advanced anesthesia monitoring, including use of ventilators, invasive blood pressure, and blood gas analysis
- Apply advanced knowledge of endoscopic, laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, arthroscopic, and advanced imaging techniques, equipment, and procedures
- Support specialty dental procedures and operate related advanced equipment
- Follow emergency protocols and procedures with advanced clinical knowledge

- QUALIFICATIONS
- Required :
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or active Provisional License on track for CO DORA registration.
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in a veterinary practice with increasing responsibility.
- Skilled in animal handling, lifting, restraint, and able to stand for extended periods.
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood draws, lab work, anesthesia monitoring, medication administration, and triage.
- Solid knowledge of veterinary procedures and terminology; committed to continued learning.
- Understanding of OSHA, DEA, and animal health regulations.
- Preferred :
- 2+ years of Emergency and / or Critical Care experience.
- Familiarity with Fear Free handling techniques.
- Experience with Cornerstone and Instinct software.
