We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in medical malpractice defense to join a well‑respected law firm in Sacramento, California. This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work both in-office and remotely while contributing to complex and high‑impact litigation matters.

Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to healthcare clients, ensuring their rights and interests are fully protected.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other legal documents with accuracy and clarity.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
- Review, analyze, and summarize medical records, expert reports, and case-related documentation.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex medical malpractice and civil defense matters.
- Manage discovery, including drafting discovery requests, handling depositions, and overseeing evidence collection.
- Handle a mixed caseload efficiently, ensuring cases progress in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Active and in-good-standing membership with the California State Bar.
- Demonstrated experience drafting motions, pleadings, and other litigation documents independently.
- Prior experience in civil defense litigation; medical malpractice defense experience strongly preferred.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach favorable resolutions.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced litigation environment.
