Job Summary

Provides basic-needs support to strengthen students’ academic and personal outcomes through the development, day-to-day operation, and growth of the Comet Cupboard on-campus food pantry. Reports to the Senior Director of Undergraduate Programs in the Office of Undergraduate Education. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with five years of experience working with students and programs in higher education, or related community programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree (preferred) in economics, statistics, psychology, public health, social work, or a related social science discipline from an accredited university
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience supporting student programs in higher education or basic needs programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with fundraising, grant writing, digital marketing, and formal program assessment
  • Three to five years of relevant experience working with student programs in higher education and/or basic needs support programs
  • Experience planning and coordinating both large- and small-group events with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with different populations
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to engage large audiences effectively
  • Experience working with food pantries, including handling both non-perishable and perishable food items
Other Qualifications To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Comet Cupboard food pantry on-campus and mobile units.
  • Secure and sustain partnerships with local grocers and the North Texas Food Bank, donors, UT Dallas constituents, and all other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage physical move of the Comet Cupboard service from its current location to the new UT Dallas Student Success Building.
  • Oversee all operations of the Comet Cupboard mobile food pantry service and golf cart, including purchasing, branding, maintenance, registration, campus partnerships, and vehicular compliance.
  • Manage program funding and spending from various types of institutional accounts.
  • Execute all supervisory duties pertaining to student workers, interns, mobile Comet Cupboard manager, and future support positions.
  • Oversee all Comet Cupboard on- and off-campus outreach initiatives, including website maintenance, event representation, awareness, electronic communications, and social media engagement.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for student inquiries and provide timely support and solutions.
  • Collect, analyze, and report program data to assess effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Represent all assigned and various Office of Undergraduate Education programs at campus events, committees, and presentations.
  • Innovate, research, and implement emerging and best practices to enhance program impacts.
  • Perform administrative duties and additional responsibilities as assigned, including evening and weekend event support
  • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, commitment to productive teamwork, and support of the Office of Undergraduate Education’s mission focused on the academic success of all students at UT Dallas.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Job involves frequent lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and operating both standard passenger and larger cargo vehicles. Must possess a current State of Texas Class C Driver’s License. Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information Remote Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
