GI Hospitalist Locums Job near Alabama Coast February 2026 + Ongoing

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a client near the Alabama coast that needs GI inpatient coverage this coming February 2026 & ongoing. The client is looking to add another General GI to their pool of candidates that help them with monthly coverage & to cover the outlined below dates specifically in February-April.

If you're available for the below dates and are selected, you can look forward to a quick & easy credentialing process, working one hour away from one of the top 10 beaches in the US & having the first right of refusal to coverage needs in May 2026 & ongoing.

Seeking inpatient 24-hour call coverage on Monday AM - Friday AM on the below dates :

(Client is also open to extending these shifts through Friday PM if preferred)

7AM Monday, 2 / 2 - 7AM Friday, 2 / 6

7AM Monday, 3 / 2 - 7AM Friday, 3 / 6

7AM Monday, 4 / 13 - 7AM Friday, 4 / 17

Details / Requirements for Assignment :

" Active Alabama medical license + current Board Certification required (open to reviewing candidates with an active LOQ with the IMLC)

" Seeking candidates with an active AL license and / or an active LOQ with the IMLC

" Located in south Alabama, near Gulf Shores (quick drive to the beach)

" Bread & Butter inpatient coverage; ERCP / EUS is not required

" Shift details : 24-hour call coverage (7A-7A), averaging between 10-12 hours of inpatient work / day

" Shift duties : complete daily patient rounding, and see new ED consults & do emergent procedures that come through the ED

" Patient volume : Average of 20-25 follow ups per day (this includes scoped patients) + see an average of 10-12 new consults / day

" Will see attached & unattached patients, covering GI group of five

" Will have Nurse Practitioner on call with physician as backup support to work with and who will assist with calls

" 475+ bed facility, designated trauma center, Epic EMR
