Join Te Whatu Ora at a key time of change where you will meaningfully contribute to our kaupapa of creating a more equitable, accessible, cohesive and people-centred health system. This is mahi that will improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Our Clinical Informatics team has a deep appreciation of the information flow without our Data and Digital information system landscape. They have a deep understanding of how everything connects within our ecosystem and are the champions for our provider and whānau needs. They're the experts who know what works best for smooth clinical function and workflow! This team is all about making things better for everyone – clinicians, patients, and whānau.

But it's not just about them – they will do this mahi by having and building connections, networks and partnerships! They work closely internally within Data & Digital as well as externally with other directorates, and within various product advisory and clinical oversight groups to make sure decisions are consistent, as well as actively contributing to the working groups with whānau, clinicians and specialists from all over the Health Sector to create a digital world that covers Te Aka Whai Ora, Community, Primary, and Secondary care and all other modes of health care delivery.

Our Clinical Informatics team are also the go-to people for advice and guidance on all things Data and Digital. From new technology to keeping everything in check, they are the ones who work in the teams that allow things to run smoothly. They form part of the bridge between providers, whānau and pure data and digital technical skills by making sure everyone understands what is possible with digital end ensure we have security built in from the ground up and we ensure the data in context provides the information where it is needed. As you can see, there will be a lot of working alongside Service Improvement and Innovation, as well as our healthcare delivery arms to ensure we optimise what we have but also take that leap to the new where it's safe and important to do so. They are there when it's just an idea, all the way to when it's ready to scale up, and making sure they have a gentle eye over delivery and then the ongoing improvement, lending their clinical expertise to make sure everything is moving in the right direction.

Mōu | About you

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive provider engagement in two key areas: First, ensuring that clinical informatics actively listens to and informs stakeholders across clinical, operational, and Data and Digital management levels. Second, leading the transformation of clinical informatics specialists into a unified capability across the entire healthcare ecosystem.

This transition involves collaborating closely with providers to shift from localized focuses to a unified approach, aligning with our goals of equity and simplification without compromising existing strengths across different locations in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

You will also be accountable for cultivating strong partnerships with healthcare providers nationwide, facilitating discussions on Quality, Governance, and Safety, as well as promoting the adoption of new frameworks. Additionally, this role plays a crucial part in offering strategic support for national programs and projects, serving as a catalyst for change and adoption among all healthcare providers

T ō mātou whakahaere ki te tika, te rerekētanga, me te whai wāhi mai |Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining together of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.

At Te Whatu Ora we acknowledge and respect our people's diversity and spiritual needs, ensuring a safe workplace that is a whānau orientated and supportive environment. We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures greater access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system – Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.

Tō tūranga i roto i Te Whatu Ora | Your place in Te Whatu Ora

When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a life-time change, that will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa, and future generations. We want to see the real you in your application and welcome the real you on board if you come and work with us. Skills are gained across many areas of our life, not just in formal employment.
