Production Operations Controller (Data Processing Specialist)

As a key member of the DoIT Operations team, you will independently analyze, schedule, and perform advanced production control functions to ensure the successful completion of critical batch processing tasks.
Essential Functions
- Serve as a Production Operations Controller under general direction, utilizing automated scheduling software such as CA?Scheduler to analyze, schedule, and execute production control functions.
- Monitor the processing of library and Mobius batch jobs, guaranteeing execution and completion according to schedule while coordinating special production requests from submission through completion.
- Verify successful completion of batch processing jobs, review abnormal job terminations, and take corrective actionincluding restarting, or notifying programming / systems staff for intervention.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and assistance to co?workers in resolving problematic situations, analyzing abends and errors, and achieving successful job completions for all library batch processing moves.
- Stay current with new developments in information technology through online training platforms, meetings, sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
- Monitor the appropriateness and accuracy of operation documentation, maintaining completeness and reviewing jobs and documentation for adherence to established standards.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school.Three (3) years of previous experience typically gained at the Data Processing Technician level.Employment Information
