Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Coordinator

Pay Range : $39.00 per hour

Schedule : Monday–Friday 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm- This is a 7 day a week facility. Requires weekends

The Treatment Plant Coordinator 2 serves as the Operator of Record for Class I water and Class I wastewater treatment facilities. This role acts as a lead worker, coordinating the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure compliance with all Ohio EPA regulations. The position requires technical expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Required Worker Characteristics

Knowledge of :

  • Workforce planning and employee training.
  • Lead work practices, safety standards (MSDS, chemical spills, confined spaces, respirators).
  • Agency policies and procedures related to treatment operations.
  • EPA standards, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Bookkeeping and record management.
  • Water / wastewater system operations.

Skill in :

  • Operation of hand and power tools, vehicles, and specialized equipment (turibidimeters, colorimeters, analyzers, pH meters, DO meters, SCBA, gas monitors, etc.).
  • Transcription of electronically recorded data.
  • Use of personal computers and electronic monitoring systems.
  • General maintenance tasks (welding, mowing, snow removal, equipment operation).

    • Ability to :

  • Understand complex technical concepts and interpret detailed technical materials.
  • Apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in operational calculations.
  • Perform data analysis, collect and classify information, and prepare accurate reports.
  • Work cooperatively with staff on group projects.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Knowledge developed after employment.

    • Minimum Qualifications

  • Class 1 Wastewater Operator License (Ohio EPA)
  • Class 1 Water Operator License (Ohio EPA)
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate a state vehicle
