As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide wide-ranging services to help patients regain their ability to perform normal activities, self-care and responsibilities. In this role, you will focus on maximizing their treatment outcomes and assisting them in relearning necessary skills to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8 : 00AM-5 : 00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will :

• Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and / or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.
• Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
• Monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.
• Seek consultation as necessary.
• Educate the patient and family / caregiver about patient deficits.
• Plan and / or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
• Provide information regarding appropriate selection / use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and OT practice standards.
