Job Summary
Responsible for checking and inspecting incoming materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure quality parts are produced to print, within established production standards.
Skill’s / Abilities / Responsibilities
- Knowledge of paint types and their properties.
- knowledge of blue reading, BOM reading, Orthographic views.
- Can use measuring tools and methods to confirm proper paint adherence (scratch test, MEK test) Mil thickness gauge.
- Identify and inspect completed product ensuring smooth and even finishes.
- Understands surface preparation to ensure proper paint adhesion.
- Must be dependable, cooperative, with high diligence, and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Evaluate finish products for painting quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, and appearance.
- Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return report and re-work orders.
- Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased parts, and finished materials and products, ensuring conformance to specifications, recognize non-conforming parts.
- Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
- Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
- Make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
- Monitors work assignments and communicate any concerns with supervisor.
- Can lift up to 75lbs.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in powder coating. Vocational training or certification in industrial painting,
