Construction Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality work that aligns with the approved project schedule. The ideal candidate will develop, document, and communicate work plans, maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents, and proactively anticipate and resolve potential issues.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily coordination of trade contractors and subcontractors.
• Develop, document, and communicate work plans for field changes.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to plan ahead and mitigate risks.
• Verify that subcontractors obtain all necessary permits for construction.
• Serve as the primary safety representative onsite and enforce quality control policies.
• Build credibility with owners, trade contractors, and unions by fostering a fair and trustworthy environment.
• Lead contractor meetings regularly.
• Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore.
• Create, manage, and update the project schedule, including contingency planning when necessary.
• Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to the project team and trade contractors.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage jobsite logistics.
• Oversee the project quality plan and implement improvements as needed.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at Yale, with a Connecticut-based team of over 100 professionals located in Glastonbury, CT. The team includes Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, and Project Engineers, working on projects throughout Connecticut, particularly in the New Haven area at Yale and Yale New Haven Hospital. The work environment is dynamic, offering opportunities for growth, promotions, and raises. The role includes 80 hours of billable PTO and 6 holidays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Glastonbury, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $60.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
