Summary

The Data Analytics Intern supports company-wide data initiatives by updating, maintaining, and validating data across spreadsheets, databases, and reporting tools. This role provides hands-on experience in SQL querying, ETL processes, and business intelligence reporting while assisting multiple departments with data accuracy and ad hoc analysis needs.


This is a summer internship

Job Functions

  • Update and maintain data within spreadsheets, including formulas, calculators, and department-level tracking tools
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used across departments
  • Query SQL databases to fulfill ad hoc data requests from finance, accounting, and business teams
  • Assist with ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into enterprise databases
  • Make database adjustments as needed and validate changes for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation between SQL databases, spreadsheets, and Power BI reports
  • Support the maintenance and updating of Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Document data processes, assumptions, and validation steps
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and reporting needs
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks related to data analysis and reporting

Preferred Talents

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including formulas and data organization
  • Basic to intermediate experience with SQL queries
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Understanding of data accuracy, validation, and quality control principles
  • Ability to translate data into clear, usable information
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Eagerness to learn new data tools, technologies, and business processes
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Qualifications Preferred

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, Business Intelligence, MIS, Computer Science, or related field
  • Coursework or hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and data analysis
  • Interest in accounting, finance, or business analytics environments
