Engineering Lab Technician (Computer Systems – Pre-Production)

Set up, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals in a lab environment, including desktops, laptops, monitors, docks, and input / output devices, in accordance with defined test plans.

Install, update, and validate operating systems, BIOS, firmware, drivers, and required software components while accurately tracking versions and configurations.

Execute manual and automated test plans to evaluate system functionality, performance, and user experience, documenting results and observed behaviors.

Perform basic system triage and troubleshooting for issues such as system crashes, hangs, and stability problems, and apply approved workarounds when appropriate.

Develop and maintain simple scripts, test utilities, and unit tests using structured, modular programming practices to improve test efficiency and repeatability.

Log defects, track issues through a ticketing system, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to diagnose problems and support timely resolution.
