Job SummaryProvide basic patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Essential Functions

• Actively participates in purposeful rounding and documents in patient care record
• Obtains and accurately documents vital signs on patients per department policy
• Answers call lights in a timely manner and reports any changes in behavior or patient condition to primary nurse or charge nurse
• Performs or assists patients with activities of daily living as needed or directed
• Transports patients to / from other departments and upon admission
• Documents all care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Functions as a Patient Safety Attendant as needed with appropriate training
• Stocks supplies in patient care rooms
• Turnover of rooms to include cleaning, changing linens and removing trash after each patient encounter
• Performs finger stick glucose, reporting out of range values to primary nurse
• Collects specimens and send / transport to lab : Wound cultures; Clean catch urine; MRSA, COVID, Influenza, and Strep swabs
• Required to attend training and demonstrate competency (if indicated) for : Phlebotomy - venous blood draws and blood cultures; 12 lead EKGs – lead placement and printing; Foley Catheter insertion and urine specimen collection; Splinting, wound care and dressings; Interpretation of fatal cardiac rhythms; Care of the Behavioral Health Patient
• Any other duties as needed to drive the Vision, fulfill the Mission and abide by the Values of the organization
