Medical Assistant II

The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient centered 90 % (36 hours a week) Medical Assistant II (MA II) to work at our UICC Coralville Oakdale Clinic. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties / clinic locations including but not limited to : Pediatrics and / or Specialty / Outreach Clinics.

Summary :

Under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM / ANM (nurse manager / assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, functions as a member of the patient care team. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit.

Duties to include :

• Staff will support our Family Medicine Clinic patients.
• Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
• Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• Duties may involve the use of electronic word / data processing equipment and / or conventional office equipment.

Percent of Time : 90% (20 hours per week)

Schedule : Variable hours Monday - Friday between 7 : 30 am - 5 : 00 pm. No weekends, on call time, or holidays required.

Location : Coralville, IA (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade : 9

Salary : $40,903.92 - $60,760.80 (at 100% time) / Hourly : $19.59 - $29.10 (based on years of experience)
