• Teach introductory courses in photography and video production, emphasizing technical skills, creative expression, and industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Advise and instruct the Yearbook class, managing all aspects of yearbook production including theme development, content creation, photography, layout design, editing, and publication.
• Utilize a web-based yearbook program to collaboratively produce and publish a large, high-quality yearbook by late spring.
• Coordinate with students, staff, and school leadership to gather and curate content that reflects the full student experience.
• Work collaboratively within a highly supportive CTE department and with colleagues across disciplines.
• Foster a classroom environment that supports creativity, technical skill-building, and student leadership.
• Support students in meeting project deadlines, working both independently and in teams, and developing professional-level work habits.
• Promote student engagement and motivation, particularly among highly driven and creative learners.
• Valid Washington State CTE teaching certificate with appropriate v-code(s) or ability to obtain appropriate certification.
• Experience teaching high school-level photo, video, or multimedia courses.
• Experience managing yearbook production, including familiarity with web-based yearbook software (e.g., Jostens, Herff Jones, or similar).
• Demonstrated success working collaboratively in a department or team setting.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage complex, deadline-driven projects with students.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Position Overview

Eastlake High School, home of the Wolves, is seeking a dynamic and collaborative 0.7FTE Leave Replacement Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher to lead our first-year Photography and Video Production courses and serve as the advisor and instructor for the Yearbook class for 2025-2026 . This teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and standards-based instruction while guiding students through the full cycle of producing a high-quality, comprehensive yearbook using a web-based publishing platform.

Salary & Benefits

Paid per teacher salary schedule with Base contract plus additional contracts for LEAP days and Responsibility. Additional Technology stipend and Professional Fund. See LWEA salary schedule posted on website. Full benefit package available for employees working a minimum of 630 hours during the school year.
