• CRRT experience is mandatory

Description :

The SICU population includes trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients, neurosurgery patients, and other complex surgical patients.

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are required.

Arterial line management and blood product administration are essential skills.

Common diagnoses include acute ventilator needs, COVID-19 with high oxygen demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, trauma cases, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, post-code blue situations, and multi-system organ failure.

Clinicians will float within scope to meet facility needs.

Patient ratios are typically 1 : 2-3, and may vary based on acuity and necessary float assignments.

Weekend shifts will be required every other week.

Local candidates are accepted.

Travel pairs are not allowed on this unit.

Certified as one of the top cardiovascular surgery centers in the United States.

This unit can accommodate conscious sedation at the bedside and perform in-room procedures such as EGDs, chest tube insertions, and bronchoscopies.

Central line placements will occur in the patient's room for many patients.

The unit includes inter-disciplinary support services and utilizes specialized equipment such as Swan catheters, internal temperature management devices, ICU specialty beds, and CRRT machines.
