Position Overview
The position of Adjunct Professor for GEEN 2952 Professional Development for Engineers in the Opus College of Engineering is an opportunity to assist second-year engineering students with their career discernment and promote professional development through teaching instruction. Topics covered in this course include professional development, cooperative education and internship opportunities, job search ethics, job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing, professional communication, and networking techniques. Duties and Responsibilities As an Adjunct Professor for GEEN 2952 Professional Development for Engineers, you will be responsible for
- Teaching two sections of the course (section times include Tuesdays or Thursdays from 12:30 – 1:45 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 – 3:15 pm) for ten weeks (August 26, 2024 – November 1, 2024
- Holding two hours of office hours for the course weekly (preference is in-person on campus, but can be done virtually as well)
- Assisting in course planning and preparation through weekly meetings
- Assisting the Associate Director of Industry Relations with any other events supporting student career development as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor of Science in Engineering with at least 3 years of industry experience Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 10 years of industry experience and experience as a people leader (hired and supervised others). Department College of Engineering
