Graduate Housing Manager

Position Summary Information

Summary Manage the university’s graduate residential community, ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive living environment. This role upholds the university’s standards by overseeing day-to-day housing functions, responding to student needs with professionalism and care, and carrying out the essential duties required to maintain a well-managed and student-centered residential experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:1. Assist in developing and maintaining a proactive Residence Life and Housing program that reflects the Christian values of the institution through professionalism, creativity, innovation, and efficiency.2. Manage Graduate Housing facilities through established systems and in coordination with the University Maintenance and Facilities Department to ensure facilities are maintained at the highest level possible.3. Coordinate marketing efforts and resource development for university housing, including Graduate Housing.4. Foster relationships with Graduate Housing residents by serving as their primary point of contact through intentional planning and on-site presence.5. Assist with room assignments and changes in Graduate Housing throughout the year and coordinate the check-in and check-out processes for the living area.6. Oversee the planning, administration, and evaluation of programs within Graduate Housing.7. Participate in departmental meetings and projects deemed appropriate by the supervisor.8. Participate in conduct processes involving residents in Graduate Housing.9. Participate in Student Services related training and events.10. Maintain scheduled office hours and participate in on-call duty.11. Maintain fiscal control of appropriate funds, including, but not limited to, staff, living area, and programming budgets.12. Abide by, understand, uphold, exemplify, and enforce University and Residence Life/Housing Services policies.13. Respond to and serve as a resource during physical, psychological emergencies with professionalism and sound judgment.14. Monitor physical (health and safety) conditions of the living area. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures while exercising discretion and independent judgement in administrative and procedural decisions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree and/or collegiate residential experience preferred.
