Open Shifts Job Summary :

Provides general care and education to patients under the direction of a RN or BSN. Performs tasks including scheduling, record-keeping and maintaining supply inventory

Essential Job Functions :

• Takes patient vital signs
• Performs common tasks including but not limited to :
• Treating bedsores
• Dressing wounds
• Bathing
• Dressing
• Coordinates visits and paperwork for patient / doctor visits.
• Record client's progress and conditions
• Records and reports symptoms.
• Reviews patient charts and records essential information including medical past and history, reactions, treatments, etc.
• Assists patients with daily hygiene needs.
• Maintains inventory and stock of clinical and medicinal supplies.
• Educates patients on current health issues.
• Practices safety and health code standards.
• Performs jobs assigned by head nurses and doctors as directed.

Requirements

Job Qualifications :

Educations : Degree as a Licensed Vocational / Practical Nurse

Licensure : Current Texas State License as an LVN / LPN, current Texas Driver's License.

Experience : 6 months experience in acute care or rehabilitation setting, home health preferred.

Skills : Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills.

Transportation : Reliable transportation and valid and current auto liability insurance.

Environmental and Working Conditions

Works in a patient's home in various conditions; possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids and infectious diseases; ability to work flexible schedule; ability to travel locally; some exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Efforts :

Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines and patient needs and to meet patient / family individualized psycho social needs.
