Locum Tenens Hematologist / Oncologist – Michigan

A leading cancer center in Michigan is seeking a Board Certified Hematologist / Oncologist for locum tenens coverage. This position is focused primarily on hematology and offers a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with APP support.

Assignment Overview :

Start Date : Approximately 10 / 1 / 2025, ongoing

Schedule :

Outpatient clinic : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 a.m.–5 : 00 p.m.

After-hours call : 5 : 00 p.m.–7 : 00 a.m., shared call pool

Practice Setting : Inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic, and infusion center (all located within the same cancer center)

Call Ratio : 1 : 5

Team : 6 physicians, 5 inpatient APPs (covering two hospitals), 6 outpatient APPs

Radiation Oncology : Radiation oncologists on-site

Patient Population : Adult and geriatric

Practice Mix Goal : Primarily hematology-focused

Average Patient Volume :

Inpatient : 10–15 per day

Outpatient : 15 per day

EMR : Epic

Required Skills & Duties :

Fine-needle aspiration / biopsy

Participation in tumor boards

Ordering tests, imaging, and prescriptions

Requirements

Board Certified in Hematology / Oncology

Active Michigan license strongly preferred (will consider candidates needing to obtain one)

BLS certification required

Estimated credentialing time : 90–120 days
