Linux Engineer

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Engineer to join our team onsite in Norfolk, Virginia . This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Provide remote and onsite Tier 3 support to NCTE Range end-users, resolving complex IT issues with professional guidance and efficiency.

Diagnose and resolve advanced technical issues involving system configurations, network connectivity, and Linux networking for Range POR systems.

Demonstrate a strong mastery of Red Hat (6-9) including filesystems, LVM, and the operation and updating of Red Hat Satellite.

Manage DNS and DHCP services across Windows and Linux environments, including familiarity with Active Directory.

Support virtual Linux systems using VMWare ESXi and assist with the maintenance of backup systems.

Ensure strict compliance with security policies while authoring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT systems and processes.

Ability to travel up to 25% and maintain a proactive approach to Red Hat patching and environment maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma and 5+ years of relevant IT systems experience

Experience in system administration, with proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments

Must have CompTIA Security+ CE

VMware, Windows, or Linux Operating System (OS) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
