Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A K-12 educational opportunity is available for a qualified professional specializing in instruction for visually impaired students. This contract position is based in Bangor, ME, and focuses on delivering tailored educational support to enhance learning and accessibility for students with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address the unique needs of visually impaired students.
• Provide specialized instruction using adaptive technologies and methods to promote academic achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student progress and inclusion.
• Conduct assessments to monitor growth and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Train staff and educate the school community about visual impairments and related accommodations.
