Job Title : Technical Accounting Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Director to lead our financial reporting and analysis efforts. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for various stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP standards. Your expertise will be essential in supporting strategic projects and acquisitions, driving process improvements, and maintaining internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, external lenders, and the board of directors.
• Analyze financial reports pre-close and post-close to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, including related footnotes in accordance with US GAAP.
• Analyze, conclude and document technical accounting areas, including implementing new accounting pronouncements and ensure monthly accounting is in accordance with technical accounting determination.
• Prepare, review, and approve various journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls and assist in resolving any discrepancies timely.
• Support acquisitions, including purchase accounting, valuation, opening balance sheet, net working capital, and allocation reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Support the Chief Accounting Officer on strategic projects and perform ad hoc projects and analysis.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Work Environment

This position offers a dynamic work environment with a schedule that includes onsite work from Monday to Thursday and remote work on Fridays from 9am-5pm. You will be part of a growing six-person technical accounting team, collaborating closely with the Chief Accounting Officer. The team is located on the 4th floor, with plans to expand to the 10th floor by Spring 2026. The role is contract-to-hire with conversion schedules in place, and there are opportunities for career growth within the Accounting & Finance department.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68.00 - $82.00 / hr.
