Department Summary
The University of North Texas College of Music Development Office seeks to hire a new team member to support its advancement efforts. This role is responsible for providing administrative support, supervising graduate and undergraduate student workers, coordinating donor engagement activities and events, and supporting initiatives that help build prospect pipelines for Major Gift Officers. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in higher-education fundraising and advancement operations.
Position Overview
The Development Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the College of Music
(CoM) Development Team in achieving annual fundraising goals. This entry-level position
offers entre to multiple advancement functions, providing a unique opportunity to explore
career paths within fundraising and development.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in marketing, fundraising, event planning, public relations, corporate account sales, or communications; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Some knowledge of development and fundraising principles or ability to learn
quickly. Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize among
multiple demands of the position. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain respectful, collegial, professional relationships
with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Considerable background in music (an undergraduate major or minor preferred),
administration, fundraising, event planning, and / or public relations.
Experience with donor engagement and cultivation efforts.
Interest in pursuing a career in advancement or fundraising.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with donor databases preferred
